Dear Colleagues and dear Friends of EVVC,
I hope you all had either a quiet and relaxing Easter Break or successful Easter events.
Preparing for your events over Easter, legal restrictions within the public holiday regulations regarding ballroom dance events may have come up again, as has been the case over the past years. Particularly for our colleagues in food services, this remains a controversial topic. We will soon run a small survey to establish the current relevance of this topic for our members in order to decide whether the Association will make it a high priority as part of our lobbying activities on state level.
At the same time, I would like to take this opportunity to mention the fast approaching MEXCON, due to take place in Berlin from June 18th to 20th, 2012. Our annual general assembly, including the upcoming board election, will be integrated in the MEXCON. After three years of board activities, the scheduled new election is due, allowing for re-elections, but also requiring changes to the current board memberships. Just as in 2009 and for previous occasions, the board will propose possible candidates to you who, depending on your positive votes, could become part of the board for the upcoming period. We very much welcome your active involvement in and feedback during this process.
Additionally, I hereby repeat my call to sign up to our MEXCON soon, in order to show our joint support for the new event format and the new sector presence, and that we aim to jointly make the event successful.
Stay with EVVC.
Joachim König
President
