The EVVC invited economic promoters, employees working on tourism topics and operators of community centres, town halls and convention centres from the regions of Thuringia, Northern Bavaria and West Saxonia to an open exchange as part of its first regional day in the regional town hall in Bad Blankenburg on 22nd November 2011.
The current financial situation of many municipalities repeatedly raises the question of the viability of event venues. Money for the operation and maintenance of event houses continues to play a role in the discussion of municipal governments and parliaments. It often proves to be helpful to know where one stands with one’s own business compared to others. With its regional day in Bad Blankenburg the EVVC offered discussion points on issues such as indirect profitability, financing and funding situation of event venues as well as the security at events.
In addition to Joachim König, Matthias Gropp, Head of AG I at the EVVC and senior manager at the Stadthalle Bad Blankenburg, and Ulrike Köppel, CEO of weimar GmbH, and Karl-Heinz Kindervater, CEO of Kaisersaal Erfurt were available for the discussions.
The participants also included the mayors of the Tristate area, who shared their views during a panel discussion on “the economic factor convention industry”.
