The KfW has expanded the funding of the program “Social Investing - Energy-efficient building renovation” to all non-residential buildings of the municipal and social infrastructure. So far, the funding amount was limited exclusively to buildings with an educational infrastructure. Now, the special low-interest federally funded program also offers all non-profit organizations (including churches) favourable financing opportunities for the energetic rehabilitation of cultural establishments, hospitals, facilities for the disabled and club buildings.
The prerequisite for funding by the KfW: The buildings must fall within the scope of the Energy Conservation Act 2009 and must have been completed before 1st January 1995. In addition to the previous funding of energy-specific measures and a complete renovation to become a “KfW Efficiency House 100”, there will in future also be a more demanding funding level called “KfW Efficiency House 85”. For this new funding level - compared to the “KfW Efficiency House 100” - a significantly higher amount of funding of up to 600 Euros per square meter of net floor space will be available.
