The construction work of the ACV was all about accessibility this year. As part of this, a barrier-free forecourt without height differences was created, greatly facilitating access for wheelchairs and strollers. Another important measure in this context is the modern guidance system for the blind that was recently completed. Created using state-of-the-art “readability” technology and service life it connects the U1-Station with the entrance of the convention centre. The guidance system which consists of so-called “tactile ground indicators” with a total length of 450 meters extends over the forecourt and also into the promenade. This makes it significantly easier for blind and visually impaired people to walk from the subway station to the ACV.
