The DüsseldorfCongress Veranstaltungsgesellschaft can now offer another event venue to its location portfolio. On Tuesday, 08th March 2011, the subsidiary company of the Stadt und Messe Düsseldorf was granted the operational management for the BURG-WÄCHTER CASTELLO in Dusseldorf-Reisholz. After the multi-purpose hall had been in insolvency proceedings since last August, it has now passed into the possession of the city of Düsseldorf.
DüsseldorfCongress already operates and markets, among other things, the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf, the ESPRIT arena, the ISS DOME and the PHILIPSHALLE. The BURG-WÄCHTER CASTELLO now adds an additional multi-functional venue that has in the past proved itself as a good location, particularly for sporting events, television shows and corporate events. In addition to 3,086m2 of meeting space, the BURG-WÄCHTER CASTELLO offers conference rooms, VIP lounges, modern catering areas and a room for press conferences. The hall also has superb technical conditions: a comprehensive system of 24 movable rigs with a payload of 1.1 symmetrical tonnes each as well as 71 suspension points for loads from 1 to 2.4 tonnes. The power supply is generated by 3 x 800 KVA with separate transformers. In addition, the venue has an excellent sound system with a 360-degree sound and extensive Triax, LWL, BNC, and audio cabling.
The BURG-WÄCHTER CASTELLO was opened in October 2005. Since then, the house has been the home ground for the second division handball team HSG Düsseldorf. In addition, the BURG-WÄCHTER CASTELLO has also been the home of the premier-league basketball team Giants Düsseldorf since the 2008/2009 season. Furthermore, the current German table-tennis champions Borussia Düsseldorf and the premier-league hockey team Düsseldorf HC are tenants at the Burg-Wächter Castello. The boxing promoters Universum Box-Promotion (ZDF Sports Extra) and Spotlight Boxing (ProSieben Fight Night) are also among the regular guests in Reisholz.
