The Science and Congress Centre darmstadtium and the ENTEGA Vertrieb GmbH signed an agreement on an all-round supply of the Congress building with green electricity. Effective immediately, the darmstadtium only obtains CO2 neutral electricity from renewable non-fossil energy sources such as wind, water and solar energy.
“With ENTEGA eco-electricity we avoid about 1,500 tons of carbon dioxide annually and also make a significant contribution to climate protection”, said Ullrich Kordt, Technical Director of the Congress building.
 
This means the “Green Globe” certified house has made a further consistent step in the direction of green meetings. In addition to cooperating with Deutsche Bahn to enable CO2-neutral travel to and from the centre and the use of renewable energy sources, the purchase of local products and services is also part of the environmentally and socially sustainable economy of the convention venue.
