In future, event participants taking part in a meeting at the darmstadtium can travel by train to and from Darmstadt from 99,- €. The journey is CO2 neutral because the Deutsche Bahn feeds the appropriate amounts of renewable energy into the grid. The agreement between the Deutsche Bahn and the science and congress centre darmstadtium is valid until the end of 2011. The ticket entitles travellers to a return trip in the second class category from all over Germany, providing they combine the trip with an event ticket.
“We now more credibly represent the claim to be a trendsetter when it comes to the topic of “Green Meetings” as we can offer our visitors a very cost-effective means of environmentally-friendly travel,” said darmstadtium-CEO Klaus Krumrey. The convention centre in the Darmstadt city centre is ten minutes away from Central Station by tram. From there, many long-distance connections are available. Frankfurt Central station is only 20 minutes away by train.
