As part of the various preliminary considerations for refurbishment and optimization possibilities for the Hannover Congress Centrum’s historic city hall and its domed room, the Fachhochschule Hannover, Department of Interior Design, together with the HCC, initiated a competition. The theme of the contest was: “Dome Room 2014, young ideas for the domed hall of the HCC”.
A total of five works were submitted and evaluated by a specially convened jury. Besides professors of the FHH and building management representatives of the City of Hannover, the director of the HCC, Joachim König and the First city councilman and Economic and Environmental Affairs departmental head of the City of Hannover, Hans Mönninghoff, represented the jury.
A number of interesting insights and suggestions, which will surely be, in one or the other form, included in the final renovation and refurbishment work in the domed hall of the HCC were presented on this occasion. “It was a great presentation by all participants that was enjoyed by all members of the jury”, said HCC Director Joachim König.
