The Hannover Congress Centrum (HCC) will annually invest two million Euros in its buildings over the next four years in order to be able to act in an even more future-oriented and competitive manner on the event and conference market in time for the 100th anniversary of the “town hall” in 2014. In addition to improvements in and around the domed hall various meeting rooms will be upgraded visually and brought up to date technically. An extensive renovation of the roofs above the historical function rooms and the toilet facilities is also planned. In addition, energy saving windows, doors and heating system will be implemented.
The refurbishment measures will equally take ecological and historical aspects of the partially listed building complex into account and will lead to functional improvements for the approximately annual 1,300 events with a total of 500,000 visitors.
HCC-Director Joachim König: “After the HCC reached the break-even point in the operational area for the first time in 2009, these investment opportunities will ensure that our slogan “Tradition and Innovation” has future-oriented prospects after the 100-year anniversary in 2014. As we are completing the range of infrastructure facilities of the HCC with a new covered parking for 900 vehicles in mid-2012, we are looking optimistically and confidently into the future without having to fear the competition of other large convention centres in Germany”.
