On 08th September 2010 the big REWE-Commodity Exchange, which, twice a year, informs market CEO’S about industry partners’ new products and gives the possibility for personal conversations was again held at the HCC. Superb product-presentation structures filled the halls of the HCC: fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese, chocolate, bakery products, meat and sausages, ready meals and confectionery ...
Afterwards a donation to the Hannöversche Tafel took place, as the remaining goods were far too good to throw away. Together with the HCC the idea was borne to donate the remaining goods to charity. Jürgen Viehöfer, head of CM REWE Nord and organizer of the Commodity Exchange: “We pass on the products that we do not need after the exchange to Hannover’s food bank association. In this way we can be sure that the food reaches the people who need it urgently.” Katja Kessler, organizational head of the Hannöverschen Tafel was delighted about the welcome donation: “The out-of-turn donation comes as a welcome surprise. We will divide it up carefully so that it benefits as many people as possible.” The Hannoöversche Tafel supports more than 4,000 needy per quarter, including many children.
