Messe Innsbruck celebrates topping out

In eight months, the new exhibition Innsbruck, one of the most advanced centres in the Alps, will open its doors; recently, the topping-out was celebrated.

Though all the events at the fair have been on schedule and undisturbed on the fairgrounds since the start of construction eleven months ago, the current state of construction is on schedule. The construction costs of 25.9 million Euros will not be exceeded.

Besides the complete renovation of the 40,000 square-metre exhibition area the Messe Innsbruck will receive a new, spacious entrance foyer, including a new hall with 6,000 square meters and the new “Messeforum” - a modern conference centre with five rooms. Thus, a total of five halls and two rooms are not only available for exhibitions, but also for conferences and special events of all kind.

According to the company philosophy of “One company - three sites”, the three spatially separated locations Congress Innsbruck, Messe Innsbruck and Congresspark igls will in future optimize the total supply. The buildings on the fair grounds will all be updated to offer both visitors and organizers the best opportunities: a central entrance for an optimal distribution function, barrier-free access to all premises, divisibility of large areas for smaller events and exhibitions, best catering and an atmosphere that offers the highest quality to all types of events.

As one of the most advanced centres in the Alps, the new Messe Innsbruck offers the unique opportunity to attract more business through decoupling. Thus, one-day events will for example be redeployed from the Congress Innsbruck to the exhibition grounds in order to make way for multiday events in the Congress. On the other hand, new conference dimensions can be added to the portfolio of CMI (Congress Messe Innsbruck). In addition, there are plans to include new exhibition formats that fill niches due to their alpine topics and to score points with unique selling propositions.
