Ludwigshafen: Pfalzbau started well – Ebert-Hall scores with sports events

The reopened Ludwigshafen’s Pfalzbau and the Friedrich-Ebert-Hall are in number of events and attendance at the same level as of the years before the closure. "We are pleased with the event start of the Pfalzbau," said Ulrich Gaißmayer, managing director of LUKOM - Ludwigshafen Congress and Marketing-Gesellschaft mbH. "And that, although marketing during the construction phase was hardly possible. After all anyone who wants to book such a center wants to get acquainted with the finished area. In this way, the Pfalzbau can only now play off its full potential.” Just as expected a few events returned from the Friedrich-Ebert-Hall and back into the Pfalzbau. For that reason the hall could not hold last year’s high level.

In 2009 the Friedrich-Ebert-Hall had 103 events with a total of 257,930 visitors, which is the same size as in the years 2005 to 2007. "For the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle 2008 was year above-average and this is essentially due to the fact that the hall had established itself as evaluation quarters for the events of the Pfalzbau.

The Pfalzbau

Four months after its reopening, the Pfalzbau was able to come up with 57 events. In 2006, the last full year before the closure, there were 124 events and in the first five months of 2007 up to the closure only 39 events.

26,100 visitors found their way to the 57 events in the Pfalzbau. "Once more we are already on the levels of the years 2005 and 2006. This shows high public interest in the reopened center" Ulrich Gaißmayer annotated the first event numbers after the renovation.

From the perspective of the congress service provider m:con, the start of the renovated building was successful. "With 19 events and a total of 2,700 participants since the reopening of the Pfalzbau in September 2009, we can speak of a successful "Start UP"-phase in the congress and convention area in the Pfalzbau", Bastian Fiedler, chief clerk of the m:con-mannhein congress GmbH gives summary. "This demonstrates that the Pfalzbau’s area offer complements well to the Rose Garden of the m:con portfolio. The collaboration with the partner LUKOM in the operational area is proceeding smoothly and is a good example of cross-border metropolitan-regional cogitation. "
