The cooperation between the two cities from the Rhineland, Cologne and Dusseldorf, as meeting and convention destinations has already proven itself at international level for some time. Now, the new marketing cooperation “KÖLNDÜSSELDORF - The Meetropolis” has been chosen as a support project at the state competition “Erlebnis.NRW” and will in future be supported with 640,000 Euros. ‘The Meetropolis’ was initiated by the convention bureau Düsseldorf and the Cologne Convention Bureau.
With the project “KÖLNDÜSSELDORF - The Meetropolis”, the two conference destinations Dusseldorf and Cologne aim to expand and integrate their skills and capacities in the conference and event management areas. The target group MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Events) as well as business guests will be addressed with a worldwide marketing campaign in order to highlight the many events and activities offered by the two cities. The aim is to strengthen the competitiveness against other major German cities. Both cities have an excellent infrastructure in the event area. The two cities are also easily accessible by two major airports as well as excellent rail and highway connections.
The Düsseldorf Marketing & Tourismus GmbH, which operates the convention bureau Düsseldorf together with DüsseldorfCongress, recorded a further five eligible projects within the context of the competition.
