The MESSE DRESDEN looks back on the past fiscal year with satisfaction and will also continue to grow in 2011. The completion of the conference centre BÖRSE DRESDEN, the refurbishment of Hall 1, new and proven event concepts with own and external productions, a positive balance sheet and an over-flowing booking calendar contribute to this feat.
The event year 2010 was a success for the municipal GmbH. While the MESSE DRESDEN was booked during 331 days in 2009, there were already 357 bookings in 2010. Fair boss Ulrich Finger commented: “In total, we had a 9% increase in events (2009: 99 and 2010: 108). 17% more visitors came to us during the last year; while we welcomed 475.000 in 2009, this figure increased to more than 553,000 in 2010.
The conference centre of the MESSE DRESDEN, the BÖRSE DRESDEN, is already a place of commerce, knowledge sharing and communication. The first construction phase was opened to the public in September 2009, and the Hamburg hall, which can be combined for up to 600 people - with a direct connecting segment to hall 3 - has since become popular among event providers for various events and trade shows. For the last year the construction work, refurbishment and connection of the Röschenhof, which was formerly known as a party location, has been moving forward. The former slaughterhouse Hotel is being reconstructed to accommodate the listed ball-room (approx. 200 seats), a garden hall (approx. 180 seats) as well as five other rooms in the ground floor. The two upper floors have already been let.
