The conversion of the HALL 1 of the MESSE DRESDEN has gone into the final phase and by the end of September the construction work in and around Dresden's largest multifunctional event hall will be largely completed. It has been visually and technically upgraded since August 2010. This included acoustic refinement, such as lining the walls with acoustically-compatible material, the installation of a ceiling that works both as a light ceiling as well as an acoustic ceiling and the associated technical installations (ventilation, sprinklers, lighting).
The foyer of Hall 1 is currently still being rebuilt so that part of the wardrobe area can be relocated into the basement area. Currently, a further toilet facility is also being constructed.
In addition, the equipment was topped up and different playable grandstands were acquired. During standing concerts there is now enough room for up to 12,000 spectators and up to 5,500 seats are available for fans of popular music. Overall, the MESSE DRESDEN, together with the City of Dresden, has invested 3.1 million Euros to improve the conditions for popular music.
In general, The MESSE DRESDEN is now able, particularly due to the remodeling and new construction of the BÖRSE DRESDEN, to offer the entire bandwidth from big plenary events in an exhibition hall to large conventions on the entire site to gala dinners in the listed ballroom.
