The music and congress hall now offers a better hearing comfort for people with hearing impairments. The new technology has been installed recently and is now ready for use. This not only improves the sound quality for those affected. As part of the innovations it is now even possible to make concerts that don’t use sound systems, such as symphony concerts, more audible.
“Our audience is not only more varied, in some areas it is also getting older”, said MuK manager Ilona Jarabek. The demand for assistive technology in the field of listening has increased steadily in recent years, says Jarabek, “the new technology is an aspect of how we respond to our changing audience.”
Ilona Jarabek’s special thanks for this investment goes out to the Verein der Orchesterfreunde (association of orchestra friends), which has paid 60% of the cost: “Once again we have to thank the orchestra friends. Without them, the situation at the MuK would be very different”, says the MuK boss.
The new facility has two technical variants and is therefore compatible with hearing aids with and without induction loop. There are a limited number of headphones available for both technical variants. Early registration is therefore required. This can be done until three days before any event at MuK’s own ticket office tips & Tickets. The pre-ordered head-phones can be collected before the concert at the cloakroom “Wasserseite” by presenting an identity card and payment of a deposit.
