Successor to Dr. Jörder

The Supervisory Board of the Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH have decided on which candidate to recommend to the Council of the City of Dortmund to succeed Dr. Ludwig Jörder, chief executive of the Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH in February. After a public job advertisement, the choice has fallen on Sabine Loos. The fifty-year-old has previously worked as divisional director of the Kölnmesse. The exhibition business is the economic mainstay of the Westfalenhallen.

Sabine Loos looks back on 20 years of experience in international trade fairs. She was born in 1960 as the daughter of a family of entrepreneurs in Koblenz. After studying in Berlin, she spent her first years as a consultant in Hamburg. In April 1991 Sabine Loos began at Koelnmesse GmbH, where she got to know all aspects of the exhibition business as a consultant and project manager. These included the communication, marketing, the conference and event area as well as the sales and distribution at home and abroad. Topics she was responsible for included leading international trade fairs such as the Anuga or the International Sweets Fair. In 2004, she became the Business Unit Manager at the Koelnmesse. In her new role, she was responsible for the development and internationalization of the leading trade fair Anuga FoodTec. Other main tasks included the development and expansion of new events at the trade fair site Cologne with events such as the Pro Sweets Cologne, the Carbon Expo and the Wowex as well as establishing new projects in countries such as China, Singapore and the USA.
