37 exhibitions took place in the exhibition centre in Salzburg during 2009, more than ever before, 591,599 visitors came to the events in the exhibition centre during 2009, 198,725 to the own trade shows, another record result, furthermore 7,302 exhibitors were present at the Messezentrum Salzburg. The available 34,828 square metres were rented at a turnover rate of 12.6 times, representing a total of 439,294 square metres.
The Salzburg Arena had 55 event days during 2009; the booking situation here has improved greatly in 2010, so that the arena is heading for its best turnover results ever.

The building measures in the coming year, the new building of halls 10-15 with an investment volume of 34 million Euros, will create conditions for the implementation of large congresses with accompanying exhibitions and congress fairs in the order of 2000-4000 participants which so far could not take place in Salzburg yet.
Thus, the growing importance of the region of Salzburg as an event destination is taken into account, complying with the diverse needs of the internationally oriented convention industry.
