Business operations in the World Conference Center Bonn are now coordinated by the city

An important step towards a fully operational Conference Centre in Bonn has been taken. The necessary contracts have now been signed: The operational management contracts for the operation of the existing buildings of the World Conference Center Bonn - the former Chamber and the water plant - as well as in the Beethoven Hall.

Thus, Congress operations can now be resumed under the city’s command. “I would like to thank everybody who made this result possible,” said Mayor Jürgen Nimptsch. From 1st September the 100-percent city subsidiary “Bonn Conference Center Management GmbH” will operate the congress centre for the city of Bonn. The founding director is Dr. Michael Kleine-Hartlage.

With the acquisition by the new company customers and those who want to become customers now once again have long-term legal certainty. In the end no contracts extending beyond the 31st December 2010 could be entered. For Mayor Nimptsch this acquisition is an important signal for the future of the overall project WorldCCBonn. “We are now one big step closer and I am confident that we will expeditiously take up the construction of the conference centre again,” said Nimptsch.

The Bonn Conference Center Management GmbH will take on all of the 20 full-time employees and nearly 30 temporary employees of the World Conference Center Bonn Management GmbH. The team offers customers a complete service for conventions, meetings and evening events of any kind in the World Conference Center Bonn and in the Beethoven Hall in Bonn.
