The Weser-Ems Halle in Oldenburg is planning a major renovation - the project 2014. Five halls with a total area of 6,300 m2 will be demolished. A new multi-purpose hall for up to 7,800 visitors will be realized until April 2013. In the second phase of construction, the existing exhibition hall will be renovated and equipped with a new foyer. In addition, the administration building for the employees will be rebuilt. The total construction costs amount to 33.9 million Euros.
The project 2014 was awarded as a general contractor model in a three-stage bidding process as part of a Europe-wide tender. The winner of this bidding process is the company Ed. Züblin AG together with architect Cem Arat (asp Stuttgart).
The Weser-Ems Halle Oldenburg GmbH & Co. KG is funding the project itself. As such a guarantee from the city of Oldenburg was necessary.
Construction start: January 2012. Completion: December 2013.
