Brunner: A bundle of innovations: fina, finasoft and finalounge

With “fina”, Brunner wanted to launch a universally deployable, light and affordable chair on the market. And it is also reportedly much more comfortable than any other models that can be found in this market segment. Since 2008, a large number of groundbreaking innovations were added to the “fina” series: the plywood seat, which is thinner toward the edges and thicker toward the centre to make it more stable, was an all-new design at the time and is still spectacular. With a visible edge of only five millimetres you cannot see that the seat is 1.5 centimetres strong in the centre - but you can feel it: The chair is very stable.

In 2010 and 2011 new frame and shell versions were added. The expansion of the fina series with plastic shell seats on the one hand and fully upholstered versions on the other hand is just one such novelty, just the same as the development of a fina-swivel chair variant. The two-colour plastic shells are also a new development. The innovative three-part construction with a fibreglass-reinforced core provides stability and makes the all-rounder destined for numerous applications within any venue.

“finasoft”, which applies the slim line design of the “fina” design line to the conference sector, offers another innovation: a V-shaped, dynamic spring steel rocker. It creates a comfortable, rocking seating experience, and is at the same time “intelligently simple”, says Michael Hauser, the head of the Brunner-development team. The comfortable seating experience is created due to a kinematic fork arm pinion that supports slight diagonal movement and thus counteracts a rigid, less ergonomic posture.
