G + B i-nteraktiv® - active participants rather than passive listeners: Lively events with the iPod touch

Gahrens + Battermann GmbH is entering the market with a completely new technology at the beginning of 2010: G + B i-nteraktiv®. This refers to a new first class design product - the iPod touch that serves as an input device for events with decision-making and discussion processes. The innovation of the product lies in the software that was developed in close cooperation with a Fraunhofer spin-off company specifically for G+B i-nteraktiv®.

G+B i-nteraktiv® provides a vibrant event culture that turns a passive audience into active participants. It is now possible to conduct polls and get opinions by simply touching the iPod touch. In no time at all, the host has the possibility of displaying results, which are evaluated with an almost complete reliance, in real time. This reliability, which is only offered by G+B i-nteraktiv®, is made possible through a wireless LAN connection. Analogue cellular networks are prone to failures and the results become more inaccurate. In addition, iPod touch devices leave the traditional design-TED far behind in regard to appearance and ease of use. G+B i-nteraktiv® is a brand new highlight in the rental portfolio of the company, which combines an innovative and intelligent technology for the events market with a trendy product – the iPod touch - and appeals to the user in a special way.

Additional features and benefits

Participants can be active players during the events and anonymously send questions to the host using the iPod touch. This feature opens up a new type of interactive dialogue with the participants.
“With G+B i-nteraktiv® our customers have the possibility to carry out voting processes a lot more efficiently,” says Dirk Hesse, Project manager for G+B i-nteraktiv® at Gahrens+Battermann, explaining the benefits. “Our product is not only an absolute novelty; it also meets all the demands of a trendy, attractive device and evokes increased attention of the participants due to its operational versatility. This increases the aim of the event significantly in terms of sustainability,” he added. But G+B i-nteraktiv® can do a lot more. From the individual presentation of the agenda, the speaker profile or playing thematic video clips everything is possible. Even the integration of the corporate design of the respective customer is possible if desired.
