N&M creates “Public Viewing” installation for Mercedes-Benz Museum

Visitors to the Mercedes-Benz Museum on the out-skirts of Stuttgart were able to enjoy the Football World Cup games in the open-air lounge. The Stuttgart branch of N&M created a “public viewing” solution for the smart ambience of the public museum Lounge.
 
The team led by Martin Würfele installed a total of 14 LCD monitors between the lounge furniture. The 46-inch screens were mostly mounted in pairs on steel base plates that were held by type 30 truss cross bars and connected with corresponding plates on the side. Especially for this installation, the technicians created aluminium roofs with silver-coloured removable skirting from a special awning that served as rain protection and visual cover for the monitors. “Our job was to design a solution that meets and underlines the open and reduced character of the lounge,” said Martin Würfele.
The manufactured individual steel elements and the truss, produced by Hartmut Bubenzer in the N&M workshop, were therefore powdered completely black, blending in perfectly with the silver protective cover and the architecture of the museum and its Mercedes-Benz Lounge.
