The current head of the Kongress- und Touristikbetriebe (convention and tourism business) Aschaffenburg, Lars Wöhler, will assume new responsibilities. He will become Managing Director of the Science and Conference Centre darmstadtium GmbH & Co. KG no later than 1st January 2011. The position of the works director will be retendered.

From October 2001 to September 2006, Lars Wöhler was responsible for the economic development in the mayor’s office in the city of Aschaffenburg. Since October 2006 he has held the position of plant manager at the Kongress- und Touristikbetriebe of the city of Aschaffenburg as well as the position of manager of the association Stadtmarketing Aschaffenburg e.V.

In both these roles he was able to increase the annual turnover of the convention and tourism businesses significantly. The utilization of the Stadthalle am Schloss (City Hall at the castle) rose in the years 2006-2009 from 390 to 525 events per year. He restructured the personnel in the Kongress- und Touristikbetriebe and adapted it to the current workplace environment. The tourist brochures and the website of the City Marketing Association have been modernized and relaunched during his time in office.
