Plans for further expansion of the Göttingen Lokhalle
Over the next ten years, the Lokhalle Göttingen will receive another annex of approximately 3,500 square metres, according to media reports. A storage area for 1.5 million Euros will already be built this summer. The cost and extent of further construction phases is not certain, but will be funded by the Lokhalle themselves, they say.

CityCube in place of the Deutschlandhalle in Berlin
In July, the foundation stone for the successor to the Deutschlandhalle Berlin will be laid. The CityCube will be constructed for 75 million Euros, which will feature a lower level which can be divided in up to eight conference rooms for 400 to 2,000 people. Overall, the building will provide space for 10,000 visitors, according to media reports.

Gera discussing the construction of a velodrome
The ground floor of the building would accommodate trade and tourism. Inside, the hall would offer seats for up to 1,760 spectators during bike races, while the interior space would offer space for up to 4,000 visitors, according to media reports. An investor group wants to raise the costs in the area of 14.6 million Euros, which would account for the cost of the velodrome.

Renovation of the City Hall in Eschwege will be more expensive
The expected additional costs will be approximately 1.2 million Euros, according to media reports, as costs for interior design were not added in the calculation during the planning process. Due to items such as chairs, gastronomy and technology, the total construction costs now add up to 6.7 million Euros.

Costs of the planned redevelopment of the Stadthalle Görlitz threaten to rise
New plans estimate the necessary restructuring to now be at 40 million Euros – originally 33 million Euros were planned. In addition, funds from the European funding program Efre need to be settled by mid-2015, according to media reports. Now the city is planning a realization in two phases with a possible opening in 2016, in order to still benefit from the funding.

Kassel will invest 10 million Euros renovation of the KongressPalais until 2017
In the next five years, the infrastructure of the KongressPalais will be modernized. It is planned to provide new flooring and walls, a new lighting concept and technology as well as renovating the roof, as media reports. 70 percent of the costs are borne by the city of Kassel, they say. In the years 2016/2017, the Tagungszentrum Stadthalle Kassel GmbH (TSK) will borrow more than 3 million Euros to invest in their house. A reduction of operating costs is the objective.

Necessary renovation of Stadthalle Dillenburg near impossible to realize
The much-needed upgrading of fire protection facilities alone would require four million Euros, which the city can not afford in the face of empty coffers. A comprehensive renovation would cost six to eight million Euros while a new building would amount to 10 million Euros, media reports say.

Resumption of work at the Elbphilharmonie
According to media reports, Hochtief has proposed the city of Hamburg a solution to allow the construction to continue. Accordingly, Hochtief will retrofit the roof structure at its own discretion. At the same time, a court has to decide who is responsible for the current situation and bear the additional costs. Hochtief had great concerns about the static of the roof that had been commissioned by the city and for months refused to lower the nearly finished roof onto the foundation walls.

Investor for stadium construction in Fürth
A company for private asset management wants to invest 35 million Euros in the construction of the new arena for football club SpVgg Greuther Fuerth, which is to be built on the site of the confectionery manufacturer Trolli. The current arena is also named after Trolli, according to media reports. The construction of the arena should be started in 2013.

Hoyerswerda (SN) is building a new community centre for 5 million Euros.

The Aurach room in Erlangen (BY) is being renovated for 4.5 million Euros.

Bräunlingen (BW) will refurbish its town hall for 5.5 million Euros and hopes to land grants in the amount of 1 million Euros.

Frankenberg (HE), is building a new village community hall for 523,000 Euros.

The Reichswaldhalle in Feucht (BY) is to be modernized.

Blaibach (BY) is building a concert hall for 200 people for 1.8 million Euros.

Blaubach (BW) has constructed a new multi-purpose hall for 9.8 million Euros. Around 4.75 million Euros were subsidized by federal and state governments.

Gustavsburg (HE) is building a new community centre for 1.5 million Euros.

The Wunnensteinhalle in Großbottwar (BW) will be renovated for 2 million Euros until 2015.

A private investor in Chemnitz-Euba (SN) is planning the construction of a multipurpose hall for 2 million Euros.

The multi-purpose hall in Rittershausen (HE) has been rehabilitated for 2 million Euros.

 

Switzerland

Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Luzern is being renovated
Nearly 30 million Swiss Francs (24 million Euros) will be invested from 2014 to 2028 to renew the building structure and infrastructure of the Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Luzern. The KKL will finance a third of the costs from its own resources, 19 million Swiss Francs are to be contributed by the city, canton and private partners, according to media reports. During the planned period it is planned to renew the ventilation and air conditioning systems, the heating systems, lifts, floor and wall coverings and kitchen facilities of the venue which was inaugurated in 2000.

Opening of the renovated Kursaal Bern in summer
The 35-million-Francs renovation project (28 million Euros) is advancing according to plan. According to media reports, the 2,000 square meter Event Foyer can accommodate up to 1,400 people, while the hall offers room for up to 1,500 people.

 

New multi-purpose hall in Sins
The city of Sins is building a new multi-purpose hall for some 14 million Swiss Francs (11.2 million Euros). It will provide space for 200 to 1,100 people.

The multi-purpose hall in Andeer will be renovated for 1.9 million Swiss Francs (1.5 million Euros).

Zollikofen is refurnishing its multi-purpose hall for 4.5 million Francs (3.6 million Euros).
