Advocate for the event industry
The EVVC works diligently on the important issues that occupy the event industry today but also in the near future.
Increased competition across national borders and the comparison with so-called low-wage countries make it imperative to continuously improve quality in the event houses. Only the best will win in the race to acquire new customers. The EVVC Award with its categories of best centre in the respective work groups as well as various jury prizes spurs our member houses on in competition and to benchmark themselves on. Due to the special design of the awards, each participant receives an evaluation of the results and thus the possibility for targeted quality improvement.
Current and reliable figures for the event industry are valuable argumentation aids especially in the political arena. At local level, they help our members, on federal and EU level they help the association and therefore the entire industry. The annual meeting and event Barometer, compiled by the European Institute for the Meetings Industry (EITW) at the Harz University on behalf of the EVVC, DZT (German National Tourist Board) and GCB (German Convention Bureau eV) offers a valuable basis.
Giving the association and the industry a “face” in the Federal and European policy circles is the job of the EVVC head office. The EVVC is able to exercise its mandate here due to the right contacts and tries to influence governmental bills in the interest of its members.
Qualified staff is the lifeblood of every service industry. An important association task of the EVVC is therefore to collaborate in the practical development of new and diverse education and training models. Our own highly professional EVVC Academy training program for members stresses the importance of this area in the association's work.
