The future convention-calendar of the EVVC will deal – by concept – with the three segments of CSR even more topic-related and balanced than it is the case by now:

The topic Ecology is the main focus of the event “Green Meetings and Events” which is held annually by the World Conference Center Bonn joined by the EVVC. Here, during the course of the next few years, standards should be developed to help event centres to act in an ecologically reasonable and lasting way while at the same time paying respect to the economical needs. Parallel to this the development of an internationally compatible concept for green, resource saving Events is pushed forward together with cooperation partners like the German Convention Bureau.

The Economy though, will in the future be predominantly focussed at on the occasion of the bi-annually DIfU-Conventions in Berlin. By the means of joint discussions with event center managers on the one hand and representatives of politics on the other hand, it is the intention to swap useful and target-oriented ideas and concepts but also to further develop intelligent basic ideas and concepts for profitable and effective business-models - for example to optimise operative expenses and turnover-potentials in an ecological useful manner.

The Social dimension of sustainability though is the main focus of the annual EVVC management-convention in fall. Here the association wants to support its members in the topics staff-development and social commitment but also call for the sensitizing of its members and their employees for all topics concerning Corporate Social Responsibility.

The new logo emphasizes on the importance of the area of sustainability that EVVC will be concentrating on in the future. The logo comes in individual colors depending on the topic that is being focused on.

“The association will be intensively dealing with the topic sustainability in the future years” says Joachim König, President of EVVC and Director of Hannover Congress Centrum. “It is important for us to also visualise this and show that nearly every action can be seen under aspects of Corporate Social Responsibility and – if we want to cope with the responsibility towards the upcoming generations – we definitely have to do so.”
