During the 12th Management Conference at the Culture and Congress Centre Liederhalle from 25th to 27th September 2011 the Board of the European Association of Event Centres (EVVC) informed its members about the latest developments in the association.

EVVC Service- und Veranstaltungs-GmbH
To meet the challenges of the future in terms of growing, larger and more complex tasks of the association in daily operations and to be optimally positioned for further strategic developments the EVVC will establish the EVVC Service and Event GmbH. We will concentrate all of the association's commercial activities here, such as the EVVC academy with its extensive range of seminars, the contributions of the more than 70 partner companies of the association as well as the organization and implementation of EVVC events and trade shows. At the same, liability risks for our members are minimized and, in addition, we will see some tax advantages due to the establishment of the new company.
The EVVC is the sole shareholder of the GmbH. Martina Fritz (Engert) will takes over the position of Managing Director fort he GmbH, next to her function as head of the main office of the Association.

Capital congress from 18th to 20th June 2012 in Berlin
“Event industry 2030” - this is the working title for the congress on 20th June 2012 where the associations and stakeholders of the entire event industry will be meeting in Berlin. The EVVC and the GCB are in charge of organizing this conference together with seven other leading industry associations. The new capital congress will offer a unique opportunity to push for a common perception of the entire industry in the federal political arena on the one hand and on the other hand to expand and strengthen our networks. Operators of event venues, hotels, stadiums, destinations, traffic carriers and operators, event planners, PCOs will all come together in Berlin to exchange views.
The general meetings and other meetings of the respective associations will also take place on 18th and 19th June 2012.

The Capital Congress is scheduled to take place every two years, so that the annual meeting of the EVVC will in future take place in Frankfurt during the Prolight+Sound as well as during the industry conference.

EVVC Management Conference in Stuttgart – CSR in focus
With 330 participants from management, engineering, controlling and marketing of the member venues as well as representatives of the partner companies, the organizers, who were led by Vice President Dr. Ursula Paschke (CEO Messe und Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland), were more than satisfied with the response to this year's Management Conference in Stuttgart.

Interesting lectures as well as discussion and exchange forums on a wide variety of topics once more focused on the social aspect of corporate social responsibility and thus followed the tradition that the EVVC had set itself for this event. Topics such as demographic change, “Crowds and Power” and “the ability to draw strength” were just as much part of the conference program as “brand awareness and brand behaviour”, “the value of printed information”, economic developments or current information from the area of event technology.

“The events industry reflects the economy. The German economy is currently robust and will remain so. The event industry is still booming”, were Professor Dr. Dieter Hundt’s optimistic words to the participants present, despite the Euro crisis. “Providers and organizers look to the future optimistically”.

Stuttgart's first Mayor Michael Föll formulated the city’s point of view: “Events contribute to the vitality of cities. Together we face the challenge for the events industry, how we shape the economic, ecological and social sustainability of venues. For this, the exchange of experiences within the organization is essential. It is important that we have a strong association that represents the interests of the industry”.

The next management conference will take place in the Messezentrum Salzburg from 09th to 11th September 2012.
