During its last meeting in 2009 the EVVC Board unanimously decided the entry into the German Testing organisation for event technology, DPVT. The DPVT emanates from the interest group events industry, igvw who, besides the EVVC also VPLT (The Association for Light, sound and event technology), the DTHG (German Technical Theatre Organisation) and the FAMAB (Association for Direct Business Communications) belong to. Together, all four associations actively want to advance and promote the quality of the event technology.

Since 2005, the DPVT has already been working as an independent certification body for the event industry. With an industry-specific standard - the standard SR 6.0 - they guarantee the quality of the certified companies: This standard explicitly elaborates on the special needs of the industry and allows the measurement of quality with maximum objectivity. Moreover, the DPVT is the one stop shop for all companies in the event technology sector. It provides information on current standards and regula-ory reforms; in addition it gives the events industry reliable guidance on how existing norms and laws are adhered to in practice with the so-called “codes of practice”.
The aim of the DPVT is to position the event technology sector more as a separate industry and to improve the enforcement of trade-specific interests.
