As part of the 20th Tourism Summit in Berlin, the Federal Association of the German Tourism Industry BTW introduced the concept of a new industry campaign, which will be ongoing until the Bundestag elections in 2017. Following the motto “All Set for the Future – the Tourism Industry”, over the next few months, this campaign will highlight the relevance of the tourism industry as an employer and economic power. This will be done via advertising, the microsite www.die-tourismuswirtschaft.de, social media, and various events. The tourism industry currently provides 4.4 percent of the GVA in Germany. About 3 million people are employed in tourism in Germany.
This integrated campaign is designed to raise awareness among politicians for tourism and all its different aspects. The goal is to present the tourism industry as a strong unit without losing focus on the wonderful variety of aspects involved. Therefore, the campaign will feature different segments across the sector, from gastronomy and the hotel industry to tour operators and transportation providers, to the event industry and Tourism Germany.
