Platforms and truss structures in buildings are no temporary constructions - News from the Working Group Temporary structures

The interest group event industry (igvw) has been a regular guest in the Working Group Temporary structures (AKFlB) of the commission for construction supervision since 2008. The Working Group temporary structures passed the following resolution on its 73rd meeting in November 2010 in Wiesbaden, at the request of the igvw, which has now been released for publication: “The Working Group notes that portable event-technical facilities such as stage and truss structures are bot temporary structures if constructed within buildings and therefore do not require a building permit”.

Thus, it is now clear that the demand for a so-called “building book” (or more correctly: log book) for a stage or a ground-based truss structure in an event or trade fair hall, regardless of its size, is unfounded. This also applies if this construction is normally subject to approval if it is built outdoors.

The need for a proof of stability and sustainability in accordance with §4 of the Accident Prevention Regulation BGV C1 / GUVV C1 remains untouched by this ruling.
