Sustainability for Event centres as a learning process – Already four EVVC members Green Globe certified

As the fourth house from the ranks of members of the European Association of Event Centres (EVVC), the Hannover Congress Centrum was awarded the Green Globe certification on Friday, 12th March 2010 at the ITB. EVVC President Joachim König, in his capacity as director of the HCC, accepted the certification directly from Guido Bauer, CEO of Green Globe, at the fair.

The press conference at the trade show booth of the Green Globe certified PR agency Wilde and Partners offered event companies that have already gone through the certification process or are in the middle of the process the opportunity to exchange experiences.

All participants, including representatives of the certified companies Leipziger Messe and the Musik- und Kongresshalle Lübeck as well as the Weimarhalle, which is currently being audited, are agreed that the work in the audit with Green Globe starts a rethinking in the company and provides valuable ideas and hints for numerous improvements.

"Green Globe provides very pragmatic help and suggestions as to how every company can work more environmentally sustainable, socially acceptable and economically meaningful by implementing small and large measures," Joachim König sums up the advantages of Green Globe. "The EVVC is aware of its responsibility towards future generations and will therefore support its members to set a rethinking in every company in motion."
