Since the beginning of March the most modern convention centre in the region also uses the Web 2.0 to update its visitors. “We are one of the pioneers in the industry,” says marketing manager Birgit Koch.

Facebook is a social network with nearly four million members in Germany. Most of them are aged between 18 and 34 years. The short message service Twitter brings sums up all news: Everything is said in “tweets” made up of 140 characters. It is mainly the 35 - to 49-year-olds that join in the twittering more and more. The growth rates in 2009 amounted to, on average, 24 percent additional “Followers” per month.
