Meeting Experts Conference (MEXCON 2018) in Wiesbaden

Wiesbaden will be hosting the next “Meetings Expert Conference” (MEXCON): The trade conference, focusing on future topics of the event and conference industry, will take place at the RheinMain Congress Center (RMCC), June 20 – 21, 2018. After three years of construction, the venue on-site of the former Rhein Main Hallen, will re-open its doors as one of the most innovative convention centers in Germany.

As part of MEXCON, the ICCA Central European Chapter Summer Meeting 2018 will also take place, and should attract an international audience. The meeting is a clear indicator for the international significance of MEXCON, and the fact that industry networking within Europe is steadily increasing.

Standards for Architecture, Technology and Sustainability

The RMCC offers a stage for inspiring lectures and sessions on fascinating topics of the future on meetings and conferences in Germany. Representatives of the event industry will get to experience the new convention center with state-of-the-art media and event technology, as well as a flexible space concept. In terms of sustainability, the RMCC will raise the bar: With begin of the construction phase, it was recognized with platinum certification by the German Society for Sustainable Construction, and it supports the sustainability codex of the event industry “fairpflichet”. In addition, the venue for MEXCON 2018 is in easy reach due to its central location in the Rhine Main area.

Wiesbaden to be Next MEXCON Location after Berlin

MEXCON initiators welcome the new host city Wiesbaden: “Since 2012, MEXCON took place in Berlin three times, and has established itself as a major event across the German-speaking event sector. The change to a different host city emphasizes the broad positioning of the meeting and event industry in Germany: A number of cities of various sizes contribute to the success of the meeting and conference location – with MEXCON offering the opportunity to present yourself to the industry,” said Matthias Schultze, Managing Director at GCB German Convention Bureau eV. “The RMCC provides the perfect setting for MEXCON 2018. With its contemporary architecture and equipment, it perfectly embodies the focus of the conference: The topic Future and Innovation,” added Joachim Koenig, president of the EVVC European Association of Event Center eV.

Martin Michel, Managing Director at RMCC: “We feel extremely happy to be the first event location after Berlin to host MEXCON 2018 in Wiesbaden. The event industry can look forward to a brand new, state-of-the-art, and architecturally impressive convention center, and for us it is a great honor to welcome industry representatives as the first guests at the RMCC.”
