The world's first codex for the event industry was created in an open dialogue process on the Internet and with two workshops in Frankfurt. The result can rightly be described as an industry-specific codex, because it was a collaborative effort with the open participation of GCB and EVVC members and a fruitful discussion process.
This commitment includes ten Corporate Responsibility Guidelines regarding sustainability issues in organizing and running events. They offer all participants a practical orientation in order to live up to the responsibility for sustainable business. The Sustainability Code claims to set a quality standard throughout the industry and at the same time requires openness and transparency. Launched in 2012, more than 650 companies have signed up to the Code to date and have become known for its content.
