Dieter Meier wird Geschäftsführer Messe Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH

Der Aufsichtsrat der Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH hat Freitag Abend die Bestellung eines neuen Geschäftsführers der Messe Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH genehmigt. Zum 1. Januar 2012 wird Dieter Meier (46) seine Arbeit beginnen. Er war zuvor Zentralbereichsleiter für Marketing und Unternehmensentwicklung bei der Messe Leipzig und blickt insgesamt auf mehr als ein Jahrzehnt Erfahrung im deutschen Messewesen zurück. Die Messe Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH ist ein Tochterunternehmen der Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH, deren Hauptgeschäftsführerin Sabine Loos ist.

Westfalenhallen: new CEO

Jochen Meschke, who was previously the managing director of the event centre Westfalenhallen GmbH, has also been appointed as managing director of the “parent company” Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH according to the shareholders' decision. His extended responsibilities have taken effect from 1st November 2011.

The principle chief executive of the Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH is Sabine Loos.

Actually, it’s not really news. It is needless to say that LUX AV event technology has always seen itself as a partner of the German and European event centres. A significant part of the conventions and events that the LUX AV plans and realizes for its clients is held in convention halls and venues that belong to members of the EVVC. And how else than as equal partners would it have been possible to successfully implement big events together?

Personnel changes at DüsseldorfCongress

On 1st June 2011 Jan Jansen, who was previously the Director of Finance at the DüsseldorfCongress Veranstaltungsgesellschaft mbH, was issued the power of attorney. The supervisory board decided this to strengthen the commercial sector.

Jan Jansen has already been working at DüsseldorfCongress since 2001. His area of responsibility covers the areas of purchasing, contract formulation, development of the industry software, risk management, controlling and accounting. His jurisdiction covers all halls.

Furthermore, there will be a personnel change in the technology area. Bruno Marx has resigned from the company at his own request; the position of technical director will now be taken over by Philipp von der Heyden-Rynsch. Since 2006, the native of Brunswick has been working as a technical Master in the CASTELLO in Düsseldorf. In his role as technical director he is responsible, among other things, for the conception, planning and implementation of all technical activities for the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf. DüsseldorfCongress is active in the technology area among others in the European Association of Event Centers (EVVC), in the area of radio frequencies and in the Working Group for further education at the Chamber of Commerce.

On 4th July 2011 the farewell ceremony of Dr. Ludwig Jörder, chief executive of the Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH, took place in the Goldsaal of the congress centre Westfalenhallen. In November 1985, Dr. Jörder, who began his career as a solicitor and lawyer, began his work with the Westfalenhallen. During the festive evening he thanked the customers, business partners and colleagues for their exciting time together, before beginning his retirement on the 1st August.

Daniel Alb neuer Marketingleiter im TRAFO Baden

Seit anfangs Januar arbeitet der Verkaufs- und Marketingprofi Daniel Alb (29)neu im TRAFO Baden und löst damit Miriam Kälin ab, die nach drei Jahren bei EUROBUS knecht AG eine Führungsposition übernimmt. Daniel Alb hat sich nach einer Detailhandelslehre bei Jelmoli stetig weitergebildet und kürzlich an der KS Kaderschulen in Zürich das Diplom des KS Marketingleiters erworben. Bevor er ins Kultur- und Kongresszentrum TRAFO Baden gewechselt hat, arbeitete er bei der Panwel GmbH Zürich als Sales & Marketing Manager. Unterstützt wird Daniel Alb bei seiner neuen Herausforderung von Walter Sanchez, Jasmin Burkhalter und Franziska Kägi.

Meyer Sound, based in Berkeley, California, has announced that Sascha Khelifa, CEO of Meyer Sound Germany, will take the helm and will now lead the company in Montabaur by himself. Meyer Sound’s subsidiary Meyer Sound Germany is responsible for the sale and distribution of Meyer Sound products in Germany and Scandinavia.

On 1st November Mr. Michael Biwer will take over the helm of the Prolight + Sound, the world's largest trade fair for event technology. As director of the Prolight + Sound, he follows in the footsteps of Jürgen Kupczik, who will devote his time to new tasks within the Messe Frankfurt and also take over as the head of the Department of Event Management Congress + Events on 1st November.

The Supervisory Board has expressed its confidence in Mr. Georg Sommer and unanimously decided to extend the CEO contract until the end of 2012. An enterprise needs continuity, time for change, visions and objectives, and CCBS would like to continue this path with Georg Sommer.

Markus Geisenberger

Leipziger Messe under new management

Markus Geisenberger will in future direct the fortunes of the Leipziger Messe together with Martin Buhl-Wagner. After studying in Passau and Edinburgh, Markus Geisenberger worked at the Deutsche Messe in Hannover. Since 2004 he has been in a management position at Messe München active and responsible for international trade shows and new technologies.

Markus Geisenberger is expected to join the Leipziger Messe in autumn 2010. He will relocate with his family to the trade fair city. The function of Spokesman of the Board will be held by Martin Buhl-Wagner.

Since early November, Kristina Wulf hast taken over from CEO Eugene Rinder at the Eurogress Aachen, who led the convention centre for over 17 years. Wulf studied Applied Cultural Studies in Lüneburg with a major in music.
